Younger guys' budgets are squeezed by rent or a mortgage. A monthly payment on a toy is a tough sell. The new cheap bike will probably be a single with a huge muffler, just stock aftermarket mufflers on the showroom floor right next to it so it can at least sound like a dirtbike.

I don't think its just Harley. Do you know anyone that sells BMW motorcycles? I've noticed bikes listed with markups six months ago have re rebates now. I went into a dealer asking about a R1 they ended up not having and the sales lady was all over me about other bikes they had and even trying to get me to go to their other location the look at a CBR1000RRR.

Also yeah the seller market is really tough right now. On the used side I had picrel 2003 883 Sportster that I bought for $2,500 in February that I had to advertise for 1800 just to get somebody to show up.

That won't necessarily stop it from selling if the cheaper model doesn't exist in the US. IIRC Bajaj makes their own branded cheaper version of the KTM 390s and the same with TVS and the BMW 310s, but the KTM and BMW sell decently in the US because they don't have that internal competition.

Yeah I fucked up coming to Harley. It's doubly bad being on a branded HD corporate affiliated store, cuz our used inventory is priced to sell Nu-Harley.... Which only a few machines are actually worth it. So I cant evem shift used crap, its consistently higher than other dealerships in my area.

Only good machines Nu-Harley makes are Pan-Am, CVO's Road and Street Glides, Street Bobs, and Low Riders. And by good I mean they are decent machines, there is nothing inherently better than previous year models.

This Sprinter is going to make or break them. If they fucking pulled another Livewire fiasco they might be cooked as a company, CEO or not.

Why is everyone acting like a shitty little pajeet motorcycle with no redeeming qualities besides being a cheap motorcycle from an expensive brand going to save the company? Is it all just stonks bros?
What could it potentially offer over everything else in that segment? KTM is untouchable with it's 390 platform in its entire electronics-suspension-engine-chassis package, BMW has the 310 which is just a plain good motorcycle independent of being well priced, they're coming out with the 450 as well, suzuki and kawi have really good 400's in multiple configurations, Honda and Yamaha have the 300's that are due for an update, Triumph has the 400 series that I haven't ridden but appear to be alright, and if it just comes down to price, I doubt they'll price it below the coming 450's from royal enfield or whatever CF moto decides to warranty for five years and sell with a massive rebate.
