It's funny, because new cars generally are very capable, but feel slow. My rav4 goes down (literally, down, aided by gravity) surprisingly well. Awd hybrid gets it off the line pretty fast. Any 2L hatch with short gearing, a snappy gearbox gets off the line decently, and with good condition suspension actually corners relatively well.

Meanwhile, sports cars (from Hyundai i20n, to golf r, to supra) are getting more expensive, are generally uncomfortably sprung, are tuned so that everything feels linear and slow, but are so fast that you cannot use their full ability safely on a nanny state road.

My TC at the time wasn't exactly higher quality but at a sub 20k price point it was acceptable. If its still that way when they're over 30k that would be very disappointing.
