They're robust, simple, and easy to work on. They drive differently from dirt bikes because of the fat tires, and some have racks where you can tie a milk crate to carry shit. There fun to take out in the swamp and go mudding on the run down roads back there. The are also DWI DUI mobiles, you will see at least one meth head riding one every few weeks.

It's the cheapest at $600. There are way better ones but they cost more. In my state I can only have a 750w motor and 20 MPH top speed to be considered a bicycle. I'm sure I could ride a 3000w ebike at 35 mph and no one would notice or care since I ride on gravel roads or in my small town. Lots of people are being obnoxious with them so they are starting laws that define what an ebike and electric non road motor vehicle are.

I know it's not everyone, but my default reaction when I see one of these is to assume the guy lost his license from too many DUIs and this was the next best option.

Picrel is what I made. I debated between 2 stroke vs 4 stroke, but I knew I was going to put it on a beach cruiser, so went with 2 stroke. Primarily because it was a smaller engine, and supposedly was faster. This thing will go ~35mph, and beach cruisers have absolutely no business going that fast. Rattles like a motherfucker, I'm dripping hardware down the road anytime I ride it. I built it primarily because I wanted to learn about small engines.

Also, I was going to buy a motorcycle, but my wife thought it was too dangerous, but was fine with me building this. She has no idea that this is way more fucking dangerous.
