not a fan of the piano gloss and i think the dashboard and i think the centre console is way too angled even for a driving experience car. looks way too prominent and the strong angle with the passengers side is ugly too. i like it otherwise.

Yup. I drove a rental with that dashboard at some point and it was already creaking and rattling like crazy despite under 10k on the clock.
The driver's side door was also making weird plastic noises that seemed to get worse after the speaker made some bassy sounds. It sometimes stopped for a while if I slapped the door panels hard enough to make my hand hurt a bit.
Also, the seat was just plain uncomfortable. I'm not even fat and the excessive racing seat-ish bolster was digging into my sides. I suppose that's sporty. Kind of like ridiculous rubber band tires on stupid huge alloy wheels are.

I'll admit the dashboard was fairly practical once I figured out where everything was, and the digital displays were pretty well designed.

There's no cohesion between any of it, just randomly applied geometry and edges with little colored accents to try and trick you into thinking it looks good. Probably not quite there yet, but I can definitely see why many so-called designers and creatives are worried---they're basically producing the same slop a so-called "AI" would.
If your "sporty dashboard" is indistinguishable from the result of iterating noise until it matches some non-linear statistical model of a "sporty dashboard", maybe it wasn't all that creative to begin with.

I havnt been in the RS3 but I’ve owned the previous 3 generations of Audi and the B8s were very good and are still good. The B9 was a step down in quality with brittle thin plastic everywhere
The B10 and equivalent are even cheaper and the design is very ugly. Idk why someone at Audi decided the cars needed empty space and plastic everywhere with a lot of edgy angles. Look at the passenger dash. That’s all brittle thin creaky flexible plastic. Even the door handle is fragile loose plastic. It’s sort of pathetic. The whole door sill flexes and moves when you open it.

Very bad. Also they used to have a center console that was part arm rest and the gear shift lever was a hand rest and there was a knob and track pad to operate the infotainment.

Now there is a giant massive empty space for the center console and the screen is at the top of the dash which means you have to lift your arm and move it across a foot long space to operate the touchscreen which now hides most functions deep in menus that require swiping. It’s like doing a workout that REQUIRES eyes on the screen to input commands and then search for the next button and then requires movements in a huge space to get to the next one. Typing is a nightmare. It’s a real chore and kind of dangerous.
On the old model you just rest your arm in a comfortable place and your hand in a comfy place and you could call your wife in literally a flick of the writer and two clicks. It took a second.

These auto manufacturers don’t even use their own products. I can’t express to you how fucking bad this shit is. They made everything cheaper, more dangerous, and literally a tedious exhausting chore to do in the car when it was actually very easy to operate before.

I will say they didn’t cheap out on the actual materials of the chassis. except the iron 4 cyl.

Welcome to new cars. I've a C4 and a GX, among other cars. The former is very much a thin man's car and is considerably more comfortable than the latter thanks to fucked lumbar placement and stiff padding. After 2 hours in the GX I feel elderly while the vette is tolerable even after riding on rough roads for the same length of time. After some paint touchup, the GX will be gone.

Some cars, especially German ones, seem to put that glossy plastic everywhere on the dashboard whether there's a screen underneath or not.

I drove a rental VW Polo a couple of years ago and legit had to slow down because the sun was low on the rear right, and I couldn't see shit in the shadows in front of me because of the sun reflecting from all that glossy plastic in the dashboard.
