A few months ago, I purchased a dream car, a new 2024 Z NISMO. I love the car, but it has very aggressively bolstered Recaro seats. The problem is that my soon to be wife (getting married in October) doesn't fit in the car. Since I met her 9 years ago, she's put on a considerable amount of weight (140 - 310 lbs). The last 20 or so of that has been since I bought the car, and she kind of confronted me about it yesterday asking me if I would consider selling and getting a sporty SUV or something because she's getting too big to comfortably fit in the car. Right now, she kind of sits "on top" of the heavy bolsters which is obviously not comfortable. I've always driven small sports cars and dont really want an SUV. Has anyone else been in this situation and if so what did you do? She has a Tesla, so it's not like we dont have a car that we can be in together.

I'm fine with her weight gain, I like fat girls and the sex is good. The weight gain is all her though. Yeah she's pretty lazy (spends most of her free time when im doing something else playing Marvel Rivals while eating junk food and playing with herself) but she's always been that way. On the topic of the car, I just spoke to her about it and she agreed that looking into seat covers and whatnot is a good compromise. She did suggest that after the wedding we maybe look into trading her Tesla in for a big SUV or something if I'm keeping the sports car because we want to have kids in the next two years probably. Also, her sister has had a lot of bad luck over the years and has had to move in with us from time to time and having an SUV would help with that.

She is admittedly the biggest she's ever been right now at like 312 I think but I would be surprised if she continues to gain weight. I'm going to offer an actual solution instead of commenting on your relationship because this isn't reddit, all you need is some sort of cushion or something to bring the center of the seat up to the same level as the bolstering, that way it becomes a flat surface again. It's something I've been needing to do to my grandma's Equinox because the left side of the seat bolstering has been digging into my leg and it's a bit uncomfortable on Long drives.

I had this issue with the bolsters on the WRX. I ended up opening the seat removing the cushion and cover, and sawzalling off the bolster rebar looking things. My wife doesn’t mind it on her side but I’m going to get around to it anyway because an average overweight American doesn’t fit well.
