sup /o/, possible retard here hoping to get some help. largely inexperienced here, i've only replaced the thermostat on this charger twice, as well as a fuel pump on an 86 jag.
>2013 charger, AWD, 3.6L
>unsure what trim, father put R/T badges on
I use my father's charger for work as I don't have my own car, odometer has ~138k miles. Automatic trans, car no longer shifts out of park and the computer seems to think the car isn't in park so it won't turn off entirely. I've disconnected the battery for ~31 minutes to reset the computer, and I've checked the fuses (fuse 9 and fuse 48), neither of which appear burnt or blown.
google comes up with a handful of things
>ignition switch
car starts, very doubtful
>park/neutral position sensor
haven't gotten to it yet
>wheel speed sensor
also haven't gotten to it
>fuses
9 and 48 not blown/burnt
>disconnect battery/reset computer
issue persists

I came home from work yesterday, car shifted and turned off without issue. I have one event I suspect may have lead to this. I took a right turn a little tight and the rear passenger wheel climbed and dropped a curb at 5-10 mph. I wasn't looking at the speedo, but I was pulling in to park.
I went to sleep, during which my father went to use the car and from there it wouldn't move.

3 of 4 tire pressure sensors have issues, but I'd figured those problems are very low priority.

Is there a check engine light? What's the code? Have you changed the transmission fluid ever? Maybe it's some driver aids bullshit that would be fixed by pulling the abs fuse.
Also, why the hell would we know what those fuses are on your car?

Get an OBD2 scanner, if you just want one that can report codes then it's like 30 bucks and you can return it immediately after the car's fixed

Why would fuses be the first thing you look at? They're not usually what fails unless you do shoddy wiring stuff. Just get the code checked, sry I've only owned manuals.

ease of access, quick to rule out. it's dark currently, have a ratchet set of my own as well as my fathers tools (let's go gambling).

>>28566027
absolutely, unfortunately the first parts store opens in 5 hours.

just trying to see what I can do with what I have to get on the road again

unless there's something i am overlooking, will be waiting to continue working on this until a parts store opens up to borrow or buy a scanner. was thinking of jacking the car up to unplug and replug the wheel speed sensor, but i think that would be foolish and not rule anything out without said scanner unless it just "came loose" and fixes it.

if the thread dies, might remake if and when i have new info. in any case though, thank you anon(s) for your input and time.

forget the fuses, this sounds a LOT like the shifter position sensor, if a wheel speed senor was out it would still let you drive.
Lift+Multimeter+some time worked for me before when I had to fix electronic issues without a reader, but I also recommend what >>28566027 says
Except that if I were you I wouldn't buy the ceapest one and keep it because you will need it again

Not OP, but any scanners that you'd recommend?
I don't need one right now so ordering online is a feasible option

>scanner code is in: P0658
just a cursory glance at google tells me PCM, possibly shifting interlock system. i've checked the brake lights, they're fine so it doesn't seem to be the brake light switch.
i suspect the battery is getting low, so i'm leaving the car running for the moment to allow the alternator to do its thing.
>>28566048
i sure hope that's the case, because i can't afford a new transmission.

current summary, these are the facts as i have them.

>2013 charger, trim unknown, ~138k miles, V6 3.6L, AWD
>last transmission fluid change unknown, =>15k miles ago
>8 speed transmission, automatic
>start car, can't shift out of park
>can turn off the car but not completely, stuck in accessory
>pressing the push to start button again to change from ACC to RUN without starting the engine, then trying to turn it off keeps it in RUN with the message "Vehicle not in park"
>disconnecting the battery is the only way i can currently "turn off" everything.
>check engine light on
>code: P0658
>fuses 9, 29, 48 don't appear burnt/blown https://www.startmycar.com/us/dodge/charger/info/fusebox/2013
>while running, "SERVICE AWD" comes on the dash

Probably some bullshit sensor. Ain't diagnosis a bitch? It's what separates the hacks from the true technicians. Anyone can change the parts. It's just figuring out which one to change.
