Were there any Vrods that didn't come with a super raked out front end?

the closest you can get is probably a sportster 1250. The vrod was designed as a drag bike basically. It sucks cause there's not much of a spectrum between cruisers and standard/naked as there is between sports and nakeds or advs and nakeds. If there were some sort of flat track fat boy or vrod designed similar to those new bagger race bikes they've been running, I'd totally be down for it

Really hoping to see the 1250 in a nightster. I would buy it

How much would it cost for a wide glide suspension setup that I can throw on my shovel?
Also taking tire suggestions.

That would be great, but honestly I'm still happy with the 975. 120hp is right on par with the vrod and it weighs less. A 1250 sportster would be almost in vmax territory. I for one just hope ebr can make something like the super touring for under $20k. Its a shame the old buell bikes were such unique and bespoke chassis. I looked into an xb9r for a while, but it feels like kind of a dead end for how hard parts are to find. With how much 270 twin cylinder middleweights have been becoming popular, I feel like it'd be a great time for some american v twin bikes to come back.

>>28578870
Apparently the Night Rod was the answer but I assume that was basically just a rear suspension lift to go along with the rearsets. Once again I circle back to the PanAm ST with a tail tidy and a less hideous muffler.

If the super touring was $16k it'd be a perfect bike, but I'm not paying $22k plus tip for it. I'd rather shell out a little extra for an h2 sx. In a few years if it sells well, I'm sure it'll be an awesome bike on the used market, but its hard to justify the price right now brand new

Easy brackets yay or nay. These seem like a WAY better option to mount Pelican 1430s without doing the whole FXRP cage around the bags.

Its a tool bag , and yes the front brake was a must , but it comes with lots of a criticism, the whole motorcycle gets criticized for not being a big twin , shovel head panhead or evo.
But hey it cranks up whenever i want to go out and use it with out breaking down.

Does anyone ever go to their local BROTHER dealer for the myriad of weekend events? The ones around here always have bikini bike washes, free food, and $1 beers. I went by one yesterday to look at some saddlebags and entered the raffle 20 minutes before the drawing. I bought a beer and walked around prodding the different types of saddle bags on bikes there and ended up winning the $250 gift card prize. Not a bad use of 45 minutes of my day.

I go for free food n swag. Beer just makes me feel bloated and I don't want chick's with track marks scrubbing my bike with dirty mop water.

Yeah I don’t understand the bike wash stuff, lol some old dude taking pictures of a poor girl in a biki “””washing”””” his bike.

I go for the swag, I don’t eat anything usually. The previous time I went I got a nice towel that I keep in my handlebar bag that’s good for cleaning the helmet visor.

I've only ever seen sad looking old guys getting their bikes scrubbed by those poor fatherless gals.
Ones by me usually have food trucks or grills going. So not terrible.
I've gotten so fucking many rags and pucks as swag its crazy. Shirts I usually just use as gym shit so that's not bad.
I don't fuck with the raffles though. I can find better ways to give money away.

Has anyone converted a sportster 1200 or 883 to kickstart? I think it would be cool to mimic the look of the old Harleys with out spending too much on an actual panhead. Currently ride a sport bike, but I mostly cruise anyways, and new severe speeding laws are my sign its time to move on. I don't want to have the temptation a sport bike gives you.
Anonymous No.28587598 [Report] >>28587642

>I don't want to have the temptation a sport bike gives you.
What are these laws? Because if they're something like 30+mph over the limit or anything in the triple digits, a Sportster 1200 can easily do that still. You're going to have to limit yourself to a Rebel 500 at the minimum to not be able to do that. If you truly have that little self-control you shouldn't be on anything but a taotao pony.
Anonymous No.28587642 [Report] >>28587674
>>28587598
Anything over 100 is an automatic felony. I cruise the majority of the time, but my theory is that having something that isn't purpose built for sport applications like a cruiser will set me up for success should the occasion arise where a bad decision could be made. I haven't gotten any tickets for it and it hasn't been an issue in the past. However I'd like to get away from that style of riding as a whole, because I don't want to increase the amount of times where I could be tempted to do it.

100 mph or kph? If MPH just have some self control. If KPH you might as well just get a fucking 250 or 300.
Anonymous No.28587693 [Report]
>>28587674
MPH. The law is only an issue on the highways which are full of speeding cars, and semis. But I'd still rather to continue in developing better habits and a slower paced style of riding, then continue down the sport style of riding.

How does it make it worse in your opinion? Does the kick start kit remove the electric start? I assumed it was just in addition to the regular electric starter.

How is adding kick start any different from making a hardtail, bobbing, adding ape hangers, straight piping etc?

extra weight, complexity and cost. If your starter shot the bed, or you happened to have a spare kickstarter laying around yeah go for it. Spending $500 on something you don't need that does nothing for performance is dumb hipster faggot shit.

No one buys a cruiser for performance period. If that's what you wanted you would get a sport bike for speed, or a touring bike for trips. You can not make the argument otherwise. Look at Harleys current lineup, Its almost completely based on what looks cool. Look at just about any major meet up be it Sturgis, Daytona, etc. How many people are buying shit bikes and only buying performance upgrades? The answer is almost none. All bike culture has been moving this way for decades at this point. People buy and lift trucks for no other purpose then they think it looks cool, the same goes with muscle cars, sports cars, and just about everything in motorsports. Its just part of ownership.

Why are there ZERO forum posts related to EXACTLY what I can and cannot get away with in regards to tall shocks and a longer 2-1 muffler on a Dyna? I don't want to run some puny 6" muffler and I don't imagine you can just bend the exhaust far enough out of the way to clear the shock on full down travel. Is dimpling the pipe the best option?
