But yes, american interiors were exceptionally comfy until ~2003. The main selling point of the K-car was that it was small and efficient like a jap car but comfy like an ameribarge

Ever been in America's sports car? The c5 corvette interior felt the same as the trailblazer my neighbor gave me for free. They used the same trash in everything else in their lineup. Huge gaps, cheap plastic, squishy buttons, there was mo such thing as luxury.

they have. 90s american interior was all plush leather and soap bar dashboards and buttons. one of the truly grim eras a
of automotive history. you coulnt tell one car from the other from inside.
the 70/80s interior that preceeded it was actually better, it had more lines into it and a button or handle was something that showed up, it wasnt just molded into the soap.

I had a '92 DeVille, and I can assure you that interior was not high end for its segment. The headliner was like leggings over cardboard. I did like it though.

I think people who say that are talking about late 90s/mid 2000s American cars, which had a huge downgrade from the previous decades from corporate corner cutting.

interiors main purpose is to be comfortable and not rattle, I don't buy a car to have shitty glossy wood on it I want it to look cool, not like a faggoty beige hearing aid lexus for old people.
