What's the point in financing or leasing when they require Comprehensive Insurance™ and it's like 3-5x the price of liability only? I'm not paying more for my fucking insurance than the car payment.

Without comprehensive your car gets stolen and you're out thousands, or you get in an accident with a non-insured driver and you're out thousands. Retards think their basic coverage includes those coverages but they don't, you have to pay out the ass for actual insurance to cover your losses. Basic coverage only covers other people if you hit them. Cars are a fucking scam, just drive something 10+ years old that doesn't have much value so a theft or accident isn't such a loss. Comprehensive is based pretty much entirely on where you live and the car. Liability is really the only part that based on you.

That's not true. I had a 2002 Corolla paying 200/6m in Albany, accidentally put my parents queens address on renewal and it went up to 800. Put my long island address and it is was 400-500/6m. This was 4 years ago.

I paid full coverage for an encore 2015. My insurance never went down and when I paid off the financing, I couldn't get NC to renew my license. Statewide issue that they wrote new legislation allowing upto a 2 year lapse to renew.
But because I didn't have a "valid" license, I couldn't get a new policy. Meanwhile, every year I pay registration for it and in NC that includes sales tax of it's resale value. They assess the value somewhere 1.5-2x KBB.

I was paying $120/year in taxes, and $144/mo on insurance for a car no body would purchase for more than $800. No issues but 10 years old with 200k miles.

Kicker is government pulls medical records before employment and if you're ever been deemed mentally ill, even before teens, government can't employ you.
