why doesn't the rest of the world use yellow lane markings to clearly define the opposing lane of traffic?

in America we have two lane roads that both have the same direction of travel that are hundred of feet away from the opposing lanes of traffic.
A yellow line is clearly visible on the left hand side of the road indicating. There is no confusion that both lanes are in the same directions.
In the pic above its impossible to differentiate which lane is which.
A two lane road with a center white line with no additional markings means nothing when it comes to understanding which lane is which.

Here they use these little reflector posts. Red reflector on one side, white on the other, placed along the roads so the white faces the opposing lane.
Makes it real easy to see which side you're supposed to drive on.

When it's like this in Europe it means you're allowed to drive in both lanes in either direction. Under normal circumstances you stay to the side that you normally drive on, as if it's a road with one lane going in each direction. But if you're passing slower traffic you're allowed to cross into the oncoming lane if nobody is coming.

Yeah, I visited there last summer. Some roads are single lane and people have to wave each other.

most places use yellow lines for road constructions
it overwrites the white lines

Its also just tape, that gets melted on the road, easy to remove when construction is done.

We have these in burgerlsnf buy just the white side. Every winter there are times when I navigate entirely by following the reflectors to follow the shape of the road in my morning 6am blizzard commute

Lines are whatever, preference of stop instead of yield and fear of roundabouts too. Know what I find really weird about burgerland? The heavy use of text in their traffic signs and lack of visual distinction with colors, shapes and proper sizing.
