/out/ing in West Africa Archived
I will be following the footsteps of an older close friend of mine who went /out/ing in Africa in the 80s after he ran away from home at 17.
We met on similar desolate paths elsewhere and I learned much from him when it comes to approach and attitude to make a journey that doesn't rely on money to get you to your destinations. But, I had never dared to go to a place like Africa before talking to him.

But, I will need some modern preparations such as the ability to make e-Visas, what power plugs are used, where to avoid insurgent or militia ruled areas, etc.
Is there any better source than https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Main_Page
Any personal experiences and advice is also welcome.

Some regions in Africa show signs of self segregation based on ethnic characteristics as in South Sudan, or relevant to this thread The Gambia from Senegal. Europeans didnt built giant impassable walls after all just some agreed upon lines and border controls and markers.

In this thread: we're helping OP solve his weeds problem. Archived
I have a 5-hectare homestead in Argentina. The homestead doesn't have a perimeter fence, so I can't control the weeds with livestock (nor do I want to be tied down with having to take care of cattle), and due to natural succession, weeds quickly begin to form in spring, followed by saplings, and then small trees, which is undesirable because it becomes increasingly expensive to clear an area to prevent it from becoming a jungle. I've seen all kinds of solutions, such as a gas-powered weed whacker (I already have two, but it's a lot of effort), a zero-turn mower (too expensive), a tractor with hammer-type or machete-type brush cutter, an ATV with a pull-along mower, a wheel-mounted hammer or blade brush cutter... and finally, another idea is to plant corn or other annuals in big areas after weeding to combat the weeds by letting corn compete with them. I honestly like Mark Shepard's homestead system, but I don't have much energy. Perhaps I need testosterone injections, not ironically? What problems does TRT have? What general recommendations do you have? I love living in the countryside, but it's quickly becoming a jungle instead of a diverse prairie.

Jonathan Rinderknecht caused about a quarter trillion dollars worth of damage and killed at least a dozen people with a barbeque lighter that couldn't have costed more then like 20 dollars.

Why are these types of crimes so rare? There's tens of thousands of people who commit suicide every year in the USA and hundreds of thousands of homeless people. I'm not trying to encourage more violence or crime just curious why these types of stories are so rare

The thing I was afraid the most happened today. I had to take a shit in the forest. Holy fuck. I got explosive diarrhea 6 miles into a 12 mile hike, and I didn't have any toilet paper, I had to use all my water to clean my ass, prior to this I had never pooped in the forest, I was legitimately shaking from the anxiety. It was watery diarrhea so it was easy to wash away with all my water but fuck, I had to use my underwear to make sure my butt was dry afterwards then I had to throw it away. I had to walk the rest of the hike without water and smelling like shit because when I was washing my ass some water kept dripping down my legs, fuck my life, it was so awkward, but not as bad as I thought, I feel like I could actually do it just fine next time if I was prepared. Getting off trail was the scarier part, I came across this big ass spider that looked like a black widow, but I was in such rush I just smashed it with my trekking pole and kept looking for a spot to poop.

/out/ings with a pipe Archived
Last thread >>2827097

>how to get started
Purchase a corn cob pipe (or a cheap briar pipe) and a pouch of Half and Half or Captain Black tobacco from a smoke shop or online. You will need a lighter or match, and something to tamp it with--a large nail works well if you don't have a pipe tool. Fill the pipe with tobacco, pack it down halfway, top it off, pack it down to 3/4, top it off again, pack gently and enjoy. Smoke slower than you think you need to, the tobacco tastes best when it is burning cool. Tamp and re-light as needed. If you still have trouble, try different methods on YouTube until you find one that works for you.

>smoking a pipe will give you cancer
Originally the Surgeon General found that pipe and cigar smokers, following a careful study of the statistics (at a time when most adults smoked, so they had a good sample size), had insignificant death rate increases. Nowadays, tobacco is being legislated against while hard drugs are being legalised. Put two and two together. Tobacco is just another good thing under attack by the government.

All tobacco users welcome. Stoners will be taken to Singapore and caned.

Excel.

If you want to know farm laws and loopholes and shit go take some courses at an ag college. Or get to know other local farmers and talk shop. Old time farmers will tell you how the government pays you. Your software wont.
There is little to no need for "farm specific" accounting software. Just normal accounting software covers 95% of your needs. If you want a farm management software, then it will depend on the type of farm you have.
