Do you camp within the fall radius of dead trees?

I always try to set up my tent underneath large dead tree branches to protect it from heavy precipitation in the case of a storm

Yes of course, but I climb to the top first and shake them, just to make sure I am safe.

I string hammocks from them because then I don't have to worry about damaging them.

If you camp in the fall trees, you technically fall on it and not the other way around.

if you camp in the fall trees and no other trees are around, do you make a sound?

No. And I don’t camp in tents, tents are for cucks and autists. I like to turn my generator on just to piss off tent campers. Speaking of piss but I like to piss on their tents at night. I’ve been caught and they don’t do anything became tent campers are all docile.

One time I did, when I was like 19. Completely alone and a huge limb came falling down, woulda taken me out. Missed me by a few feet. Landed right on my dinner pot and fire. Lost my dinner, but kept my head.

I set my tent up in the woods behind my house
I camped in it 1 day then left it there because i didn't really like camping but thought i might change my mind
the next day a giant dead maple fell on it and crushed it

Yeah.
If it hasn't fallen yet chances are it's not going to fall while I'm by it.
Has anyone actually been killed by a supposed 'widow maker' who wasn't actively cutting down trees?

wouldn't be my biggest concern unless there was something specifically wrong with the tree

And the obvious comparison here would be camping under a living tree which might drop branches, or in the fall radius of a dead one.living trees grow and drop branches over and over, some are specifically prone to it, the condition of a living tree can change quickly. but a dead tree? well it it's standing there it's been standing there for years.

I once setup a tent under a halfway fallen tree.
it was a huge pine that must have tipped over less than a week ago, it was hung up on a single branch about 150feet above where i put my tent down.
i only noticed it in the morning when I was walking back to my tent.
i quickly relocated my tent. i stayed at that camp site for 2 nights, the tree didnt move.
I reported it to DNR when i canoyed back.

I try to avoid it, but if I do I usually try to make sure I'm now in a spot that would likely fall if it did (like underneath where it's leaning)
I have a family friend whose dad died from a tree falling on him while he was sleeping in his tent, so I've been extra paranoid since then.
