i liked these the best, but you may not need all of them depending on what you are actually interesting in doing.
back to basics is more just homesteading than going out and hiking so you may not want that one if you are just looking to go out hiking or something.
obviously the bike one is bike-centric so if you don't like biking that ones not gonna provide any value to you.

Mr. Kaczynski is a true great read however if one doesn't like the political edge he obviously has then it may be off putting. His works after Industrial Society and It's Future is a lot more "factually based" so those may be more appealing if one wants to listen to a genius who lived alone for such a long time alone tinkering with bombs in Montana
Path of the Paddle by Bill Mason. Some general naturalist insights but a great book for canoeists. Really wholesome guy who also made a few videos for the canadian film board which are worth a watch.
