It cant hurt you if you're healthy but it if you're immuno compromised getting really cold fast and then really warm can make you sick. Your immune system gets really good as you hit your twenties and then hit starts to bottom out as you get older

hypothermia is a common cause of death of people caught in heavy rainstorms without shelter or proper clothing to avoid getting soaked and lowering their body temp for prolonged periods of time.

Also rain brings the chance of thunder, which can, and has, killed people. Even more of a danger when above treelines.

Hiking. I love hiking in the rain, because all of the filthy casuals stay home. Bring a flask of bourbon, dress for the weather, it's worth it.
Shit, I even like camping in the rain, but that admittedly is a bit more of a pain in the ass in some ways. The forest is a lovely place to be when it's raining.

Because being wet and being pelted in the face by water is uncomfortable
