Anyone shoot an animal if they had to, but... then what? Specifically, I'm talking butchering it, moving and preserving the meat, what to do with the bones and hide- the whole shebang- but if you were alone out in the bush. YT videos on the topic are usually taken down because they're obviously gonna be pretty graphic (in my experience, anyway). Or it'll cut from the person catching a fish or shooting a grouse to it sizzling in a pan lol

Did you nurse then back to health? Did they eat ALL the eggs? lol
Nah, wouldn't they be a mangled mess of asphalt and whatever other junk? Plus their insides must have been all smashed up, I would think. How was it?

Well you gut it and bleed it straight away. Slit its throat to bleed it, cut all the way through the wind pipe. Then make a cut in its stomach in the middle, all the way up to the rib cage, the guts will mostly fall out on their own, dont cut into any of the guts. Then you reach into the chest cavity, punch a hole in the thin muscle that seperates the lungs from the guts, and feel around till you find the wind pipe. When you find the wind pipe grip it tight and pull it hard, it should all come out with a decent pull if you're not a pussy.

Now its still going to be attached at the other end, you need to cut the whole ass hole out but cutting around it inside the pelvice, once its cut you do the same as with the wind pipe. If you burst the bladder here itll piss all over the meat, try not to dk that. If its a male itll have nuts to deal with too, just cut around them.

The rest is up to you, skin it if you want, pretty simple, hang it up and cut the skin off by carefully cutting at the fascia between the meat and the skin. Once you get it going, make a fist with yor thumb on the outside and start pushing your knuckles between the skin and the flesh, it'll come off and you'll have a eureka moment when you learn that the curve of your thumb is perfectly evolved for skinnng animals. You have to switch between using your thumb/fist and the knife and just straight up grabing the loose skin and pulling it off the carcass. Its very fun and you'll get strong hands if you haven't already.

As for the meat, a deer is best hung for a few days in the shade and with the skin on. But it doesn't matter, if you are in the bush and you need to get out just get into it. I normally cut the back straps off the bone first and put em on a log or something, ill cover them in a bif of cloth or something or ill put em straight into a plastic bag if the are wasps and flys around.

Btw you'll want some rope, parachord works well. A canvas meat bag ideally, but ziplock bags work if its not 30 degrees celcius out. If you are going to hang it, an old single duvet cover is pefect for keeping flys off deer. I have no experience with cows ot moose or any big critters like that btw. You need a sharp knife (duh) and stone or steel too, itll go blunt if its not some fancy modern steel.

You'll want to cut the legs off now, 1 front leg will likely be fucked if you shot through it, so try not to shoot through it but often you have no choice. Front legs are easy to remove just cut behind the shoulder blades where it atatches to the ribcage. The back legs are harder and will require you to get into the ball joint at the pelvice with the tip of your knife and you also have to twist it to get it to break out. You'll find all this makes sense once you do it, because it is as deeply rooted in your DNA as having sex.

If im carrying a long way i normally cut the bones out of the legs, thats easy as. Otherwise you can cut the at the knee joint, twist the lower leg off and toss it away.

You can also make a backpack out of the animal by tyeing the front and back legs together to carry the whole thing out if you're a hardcunt. Use rope or there is a trick where you can cut a hole inbetween the tendon and the bone of the back leg and the put thd front legs through the hole and cut the knee but leave the skin at the back. Its hard to explain it but you'll figure it out.

Btw I like to leave the skin on for cutting meat and carrying it out.
