I had one when I was a kid. You're going to spend hundreds of dollars each summer buying chemicals. You're going to need to treat it about once a week once you get the chemicals right at the start of summer. You are going to need to back flush the filter every other week or so. You are going to have to skim the leaves every couple days. They sell robot vacums for the bottom get one of those. And since it's above ground you are going to have to patch the vinyl every so often. The hard part is finding the leaks but they normally eat away at the dirt so you can find them by feel. If you have kids they are going to love it. I didn't bathe all summer as a kid because I was in the pool every day.
