As long as it's not in my photo, I don't really care - but I should be allowed to be anywhere I want as long as I'm not bothering someone, leaving trash, being loud, etc.

>>2825246
we certainly won't get it with your attitude
it exists in other countries
the concept of "no trespassing" didn't really exist before the civil war
things shouldn't be this way
most land is held by vast agricultural/mining/logging interests where the public is kept away for no good reason

It's called Liability. You live in a dogshit country where you can sue a property owner if you get hurt on their land. That's why people put up no trespassing signs. They are saving their own ass from lawsuits from children and other retards who roam on their land and then get injuried.

no, that's a red herring
name a single example of a court saying someone trespassing could hold a landowner liability for damages if they didn't outright kick them off the property

it's about people being control freaks and wanting to be mini-tyrants over their patch, it's territorialism

These maps people are making are really just maps of all the federal land that isnt specifically protected in a monument or wilderness area. These lands have not been specifically outlined in the bill as elligble for sale, this is just what some people think is elligble because these lands have no protections. Remember that the way the current bill is written they have to sell 2-3 million acres, which is not 250 million. I'd like to see a version of these maps that follows the language of the executive order and talking points about their claimed purpose of the land sale for housing development - only undesignated land within 5 miles of an urban area. I'm still against any large selling of public land but its not as big as these articles are all making it out to be

>only undesignated land within 5 miles of an urban area.
They will just sell land within the 5 miles, develop it, sell more l and next to that newly developed land and so forth. 3M acres of land is a lot. They could wipe out entire giant sections of NF if they wanted to with this over the course of 4 years.

the real issue is the senate is 2 per state instead of population proportional, you basically cannot have a democratic controlled senate that can overwhelm the filibuster, and that's intentional, they don't want to let progressives do anything cuz the government is about the interests of large land owners

thanks. So its not actually as dire as twitter screenshots would leave you to believe. I'm still opposed to it in principle but its also disingenuous to pretend that drilling on otherwise barren land is the same as turning Yellowstone into a resort like they almost did in the 1880s.
Also the checkerboard swap has the potential to be a net positive, although the debacle in the Crazy Mountains is a reason to be cautious.

Because property owners are vigilant, beside you attempting to imply that a lack of cited cases against the owners changes the facts that liability laws and property owners must abide their end exist is a fallacy
"Trespassers, who enter without permission, are owed the least duty of care. Generally, property owners are not liable for injuries to trespassers unless caused by intentional harm or gross negligence. An exception exists for child trespassers under the “attractive nuisance” doctrine, which requires owners to secure property features that could pose hidden dangers to children, such as pools or abandoned equipment."

I'm sure there is plenty of cases, and most of them are dismissed because the judge figures out you are just a nigger with serious boundary respect issues
