i know people are kvetching hard and I also don't like it but the whole about public land is it is owned by the gov for the public. if your town or city went up after the revolutionary war it was built the same way with the gov. sectioning off public land for use in development

it sucks but it is nothing new and the "solution" would require active effort in turning more pieces of BLM land into national forests and parks which isnt happening so lol

It is happening though. Obama and biden both designated new national monuments out of blm and forest service land.

And i think you are misunderstanding federal land. both blm and forest service land is part of this proposal (might even be some acoe too), its not just blm. National forest land is not inherently more protected than blm. Both can have monuments or wilderness areas or special recreation areas to protect parts. Blm has plenty of wilderness areas that have the same level of legal protection as a wilderness area in a national park

Why not improve the cities we already have and fix the infrastructure WE ALREADY HAVE? Also no Republican is going to embrace 15 minute cities. I say that as a conservative who hates how many women and nigs are clogging the damn roads. It’s not homosexual, it’s actually quite traditional to have a community not dependent on cars to get everywhere but for some reason no conservative wants to fucking talk about them so it’s just queers bringing them up.

The west is fucking huge, fucking massive, the western states actually appear smaller than they really are on mercator maps because Maine only goes to 47N while the plains and west goes to 49N. Changing building regulations/codes, using new or alternative building materials, selling off the largest and least used ranches, and just better organization in general will solve the "housing crisis". The crisis is literally just caused by boomers and tech niggers that make 500k a year being jackasses and owning multiple properties and homes for investment purposes only, butting out the younger generations from owning property. 15% of the land area in the average western state is enough to house 10-20 million people in each state. Nevada and Alaska are the only states you can successfully argue that need to sell off land but the land in both those states is largely uninhabitable, especially Nevada (wasteland).

We already have them in CA. In SF you can go your entire life without a car, in fact it's recommended since the likelihood of your car being broken into or stolen is very high. There's a reason most people live on the west and east coast. You aren't going to solve shit by building massive housing plans in states that no one wants to be in outside of tourist season. The winters alone are fucking AWFUL in most of the mountain state. It's also windy as fuck in the flat plains, which is where these "cities" will end up going.

Housing costs are retarded due to incumbent landowners in desirable cities making it impossible to build new units or make existing properties denser. This has knock-on effects as everyone else gets forced out of the city into surrounding towns, who then distort those housing markets as they bring their city wages into smaller local economies.

Destroying one of the things that makes the United States truly exceptional will not solve that problem. Most of these lands are far away from existing population centers and are not set up for permanent human settlement. The solution is stopping the elderly cat lady and her spinster friends from cynically using environmental reviews to kill any housing development in San Francisco / Seattle / New York City / Washington DC / etc. This also has the added benefit of keeping the cityfolk you hate so much away from your community.

Them leasing a bunch more land for oil and gas and whatever is a thing that is both part of the bill and in some executive orders, but is separate from this which is in fact a sale. The bill says that the gov has to sell at a minimum like 2 million acres. Not lease, sell.

Yes lots of forest service and blm land is actively used for resource extraction, but not in wilderness areas which specifically forbid that. There might be abandoned mines and things but not working ones and they cannot give new leases or permits or anything jn wilderness. Generally also not in national monuments but some have legacy stuff from before they were designated.

theres no houses because most people in the US have been getting poorer and poorer, boomers, black rock and tech niggers buying homes isn't the issue
globalism is the root of all this
more land for development will absolutely reduce housing costs because those tech niggers will build in these new areas instead of buying up whats already there in some dumpy old house that should go to a young person/family

nobody is going to build in "more land for development" retard.
The sale of public lands was pulled from the bill two days ago, it was massively unpopular, and had zero stipulations that sold-land be actually used for housing. The fag senator from Utah that put that in still is trying to get public land sold, but is stipulating that it has to be "within 5 miles of a population center" with again, no specification of what a "population center" is.
Contact any people you know in Utah to vote Mike Lee out of office, he's clearly pushing this shit for some rich asshole donor, or personal reasons.
If you want housing costs to get fixed, contact your own senator and insist that corporations not be allowed to buy up single family houses to perpetually rent, and make rent fixing companies like RealPage illegal.

>Lee, in a post on X Monday night, said he would keep trying.
>“Housing prices are crushing families and keeping young Americans from living where they grew up. We need to change that,’' he wrote, adding that a revised plan would remove all U.S. Forest Service land from possible sale. Sales of sites controlled by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management would be significantly reduced, Lee said, so that only land within 5 miles of population centers could be sold.
Who would have thought that Morons would be so dead set on killing off the only attraction to their own state. Also this solves nothing. Housing prices in SF, LA, Seattle, NYC will still be sky high. Adding more suburbia or slav block housing doesn't change shit lmao. Wall street will continue to buy up the land and flip it for hundreds of thousands

First of all OP is a rage baiter. The original bill has nothing to do with 15 minute cities.
Secondly selling off public land miles from existing cities does not create more dense cities. The bill Lee put forth only stipulates it be used for housing, not the kind of housing. Local zoning laws and other local bullshit gets completely in the way of that. Also the bill would block sale of this land for commercial use outside of a small % for logging and oil, which means no stores or businesses lmao.
If you want to fix the problem you need to go after existing cities and their horrible zoning laws.

Load this page :
https://www.energy.senate.gov/services/files/DF7B7FBE-9866-4B69-8ACA-C661A4F18096
hit ctrl+f and search for :
"bureau of land management land"
and start reading from there.

Of note :

"(1) USE.—A tract of covered Federal land disposed of under this section shall be used solely for the development of housing or to address associated community needs as defined by the Secretary concerned."

So a governor will get to determine what land is sold, as long as they have any kind of "community need" that governor wants.
IE: A Mormon church... Or a golf course... Or maybe even a swimming pool...
As long as the governor okays it, it's good to sell.
Also limiting tract purchases to only 2 per person, yet not specifying how large the tracts can be.

Right below that section, they are also telling the forest service they have to sell 3000sq mi MORE of trees each year for logging annually.
