Your tweet is correct; it's too dangerous to travel the US. I don't recommend you travel anywhere, ESPECIALLY rural areas of the US like the West.

I've got 30k mi on my car in the past year alone from doing roadtrips across the entire northern US and the most "danger" I saw was some angry cuck that kept giving me the finger because I cut him off in a city. Guy was having a mental breakdown over it while I ignored him for about 15 minutes until I turned off a different road.

Tourists, especially foreigners never go to rural america anyway unless it's next to a national park which may as well not be rural anymore due to how popular most of them are in summer.

Also as far as places it depends what you're after. Do you want mountains west or west coast west? Honestly if you just want to get into the mountains go straight over to Colorado, Utah, Idaho (maybe), Wyoming, and Montana then loop back down. So many places in those 5 states alone with incredible views that are worth going to. Most of the national forests / blm will be empty or very little traffic. The national parks will be insane though since it's summer. Tetons in Wyoming for example had people overflowing from all the parking lots in late may already, but the national forests right nearby it were practically empty and just as good of views if you hike in.

Can anyone show me proof that the US is more dangerous for foreign visitors than going to Afghanistan?

Every year 6 gorillion german and british tourists die in the southwest deserts, often found wearing sandals partially melted by the 180F ground and carrying only a single 500ml water bottle. Every winter a smaller number of the same such type of tourists are found frozen to death in the mountainous and high elevation areas of the southwest, often found wearing shorts and a light t-shirt not knowing nights can get to -30C. In the east a similar number of foreign tourists become prey to the Florida man.
