Why do boomers gatekeep e-bikes? I bet you money the people who decided to ban them at this forest have never ridden on on a trail.

Retards ride them beyond their capability and injure other people when they lose control because the dirt was a little soft.

Are you allowed to ride dirtbikes on these trails?
If not, then why would you expect to ride an e-bike?

then maybe people who ride e-bikes recklessly should be given tickets, rather than just anyone riding one

>>2826674
dirtbikes are much more powerful and noisy

Not all of them. Many e-bikes are more than powerful enough to tear up trails or heavy enough to break some boomer's hip if driven too fast around a corner (especially since the lack of noise makes them harder to hear coming). You can't expect a park ranger to verify the top speed and TAR weight of the bike so it's easier for them to Institute a flat ban.

a jeet abandoned one of those motorcycle ebikes that are barely legal in a local forest park. boomers suck, but their NIMBYism is correct in a few instances.

I think there’s major confusion on the spectrum of ebikes. Ebikes is too broad a term imo. There’s like the class 1 pedal assist that just help a little on hills. But most people envision ebikes to mean only these full throttle gloried dirtbikes that go 50mph. I don’t see how class 1s would damage a trail anymore than a rider who is in shape since it’s similar amount of torque.

well, it's also about trusting people to not barrel down popular trails and go really fast - regardless of what bike they have. An e-bike speed limit of 15-20mph makes more sense than an outright ban.

and there's plenty, plenty of trails that are supposedly not for motor vehicles where side by sides and dirt bikes roam anyways (the gasoline kind).

Then why not allow regular motorcycles?
