I have 10 days to spend backpacking in the Pyrenees in August, I'm driving there so where should I aim to? French or Spanish side?

Looking for nice trails, mountain lakes to swim and sunbathe nearby and hopefully not many people around. I want to summit Aneto or Mount perdido.
Thanks.

Already decided the trail I'm doing.

>Alta Ruta de los Perdidos
>Slightly over 100km circular trail
>7000m elevation gain
>3350m highest peak
I've done hikes before where I did that same distance in just two days but it was on lowlands and when I was doing km after km every week on the mountains and it has been a few years since then so I hope it's not more than I can chew. Will need to buy some new gear too including shoes, sleeping bag and maybe even a tent and lightweight cookware since the stuff I already have is not adequate for that terrain.

It also supposedly bear country so going alone might not be the smartest idea but it's either that or not going at all and spending summer without doing anything cool. Anyway I'll try to keep this thread up till then.
