Not sure if this is serious but eggs would definitely break in your ass unless hard-boiled, and even then I think your asshole would squeeze that shit to mush on insertion, depending how dilated your anal hole is on average

Depends, are the eggs from a Big Black Chick or a Petite Speckled Poultry? I usually pick out smaller eggs for those so they don't succumb to the pressure of the tight fit and reach out all inside my backpack with their gooey yellow load.

Realistically, how long do eggs last without refrigeration?

Google says a couple hours only, but I'm pretty sure I could get away with at least 24 hours. I don't think I would want to push it more than that.

Eggs are washed here in the states. Washing the Eggs means they have to be refrigerated, unlike Europe, where they're shelf-stable because they're untreated.

By the way, you don't really need an Egg holder anyway. You can put your Eggs in a glass crush-proof jar and then surround them with flour, any sort of grain, or paper towels.

As an extra bonus, you can pre-mix some baking powder and salt into your flour and then use that to cook Bannock. Then you've got a full meal in a jar!

But really, the endgame here, if you're really a backpacker, is powdered Eggs. They're not as tasty but they're way more convenient and keep forever.

I only bring fresh eggs when car camping. I keep them bagged in their original packaging.
i would sometimes bring hard boiled eggs when backpacking, and my dog loves eggshells and will eat them up.

A few years ago I discovered that South Africans and New Zealanders pronounce "egg" like "ig" and for some reason I find that really funny (especially because "an egg" becomes "a nig") and think of it every time eggs come up now.

just ask your local chicken farmer if you can collect unsaleable Eggs with their permission. it probably varies but mine can't sell Eggs from the floor, they can only sell Eggs laid in designated boxes.
