The key is health and fitness, making sure you have a high amount of calories, and being strong enough to endure anything that passes you by.
I think you could do something like ForestAnon initially, buy food from stores and make a bunch of staches, then slowly learn preserving and hunting and foraging, until you have a bunch of staches of natural food. It might be better to travel between locations so you don't exhaust local food supply, keeps you fresh mentally, and you can always stop into buy food when you fuck up.
My plan is I'm saving up 20000 dollars, then I'm going to hike the American Trail systems, and try my best to forage and hunt and fish for most of my food. The cash will give me a safety net, and with enough education and perseverance I might eventually develop something sustainable.
