Is "off-grid" living an illusion? How would you do it?

I'd probably start by building a house that didn't require a connection to municipal water/power/sewerage.

>Is "off-grid" living an illusion?
What does that even fucking mean?

or literally the other way around

literally does not matter how you attack the ends as long as no one else is forcing you to burn both ends whilst you are placing your.. on hold.

>waco
>off-grid
Waco was not off-grid by any means.
Waco was a cult that raped children and women
Waco got what it deserved and the parents that refused to let their children leave should have been hung

Also off-griding is the gayest larp. Get mental help, for real. Someone is willing to talk to you.

You got any evidence for that?

And even if it's true, burning children alive because their parents abused them seems like a failure on the part of the government.

It was all about them not paying taxes, simple as. God asks for a 10% tip, the government asks for more than God

That's it. Off-grid is easy.

>barbed wire is illegal
Seriously? I knew you burgers were cucked, but didn't think it was that bad. Even in Germanistan, I only had to put another fence in font of the barbed wire, so people can't run into it on accident.

It's quite common in my area because most house already run on well and septic, oil for heat, so all you have to do is get solar.

It is and it's not. It absolutely works in a vacuum, obviously since we did it for thousands of years. If you have a piece of land with water and trees, you won't even necessarily need to bring your own building materials in. The problem is that most people don't do it, which means someone (namely, city or county officials) will probably try to make it a problem and shut you down if you're caught.
>muh property value!!1!

Naturally this is less of an issue out in the boonies, but depending on your state/region you may have eusocial bug people bothering you.

Seems pointless unless you just really want to live somewhere remote. Youโ€™re not really self sufficient unless you can grow or raise all of your own food, and even then, there are some things like coffee that you canโ€™t produce yourself and would have to either continue buying or go without.

Most people don't go fully wild, because it is challenging. I am wanting to, but I'm taking it slow, learning what I can.
The key is health and fitness, making sure you have a high amount of calories, and being strong enough to endure anything that passes you by.
I think you could do something like ForestAnon initially, buy food from stores and make a bunch of staches, then slowly learn preserving and hunting and foraging, until you have a bunch of staches of natural food. It might be better to travel between locations so you don't exhaust local food supply, keeps you fresh mentally, and you can always stop into buy food when you fuck up.
My plan is I'm saving up 20000 dollars, then I'm going to hike the American Trail systems, and try my best to forage and hunt and fish for most of my food. The cash will give me a safety net, and with enough education and perseverance I might eventually develop something sustainable.
