there is nothing more fake and gay that reading innawoods. i used to bring my ebook but have long since stopped. i think the last thing i read was vladimir nabokov's short stories like 5 years ago. you do not need the white man's squiggly glyphs putting strange ideas in your head via phonetic subversion.

I read manga on my phone
I wish my Switch didn't eat so much battery or I'd take it more often, might take it if I'm only out for a night or two

John Burroughs has a quote from "In the Catskills" about how you always want to bring a book but nature is always way more interesting. Or something like that.

Emerson has one about how the whole point of enjoying nature is to forget about civilization and its bullshit. Something like "if man is to venture into nature and leave his life behind, he must also leave behind his quarters"

Burroughs in the same story ended up reciting some horrible faggoty poetry with his hiking buddy, I skipped that part

All said, If I was stranded on an island waiting for rescue, some Mark Twain would probably be nice.
