Vagabond General #1

Outdoor living or homless?

Good to know:
Safety First, Is high traffic safer because peopple pass on by? How about parks, forests, or less populated areas?

Equipment:
Tent or Tarp, Sleeping Bag, A sleeping pad, portable stove or a simple campfire setup can make cooking easier. Donโ€™t forget a pot and utensils!

Foraging:
Learn about local edible plants and mushrooms. It can supplement your diet and save money.

Water:
It always takes way more water than you expect. Water to brush teeth. Water to drink. When it gets hot I use 10-20Litres a day.
Always have a way to purify water.

Stay Clean:
Keep a kit with soap/ a toothbrush/ and wipes.
Public restrooms can be used to wash up. Don't leave a mess. If you always leave the place cleaner than when you left it, people are less likely to complain.
Use a laundrymat when available.
Not necessarily hygiene, but take care of your mental health.

Other:
Research local laws regarding camping and homelessness.
Remember there are shelters, food banks, and outreach programs.

Resources:
maps.google.com

What the fuck is this LARP ass thread.

His singular resource is GOOGLE FUCKING MAPS which if he actually went /out/ heโ€™d know is dogshit for navigation

โ€œvanlifeโ€ shit is completely different from living inside a backpackpack or on a bike because they have their own fucking car and all they have to worry about is security jannies in their secure, locked bedtime parking lot

op is a greentext image

no idea what the fuck is going on with Good to Know
In short fucking Larper OP go back to r/homeless

Errrr... Yes. Thank you for your feedback. What would you suggest as a better resource for navigation? I just found it funny. I find google maps satellite good for finding small foot paths and out of the way spots.
My best advice for those in North America (except mexico) is to find online maps of state/ federal/ provincial land. Then figure out access via google maps. This works well for finding out of the way camping spots.
This is a LARP thread. Perhaps it's a containment thread? I wouldn't want to polute other good threads (like the actual comfy and fun LARP thread) with this nonsense.

1. Get off at Zella-Mehlis, Meininger StraรŸe.
2. Have last decent meal at Schnitzel & Co.
3. Sneak innawoods.
4. ???
5. Profit
You guys have a functioning bus system to get near the woods. For short and fun camps I'd imagine you'd get away with it. Anything longer and you'd want to be more particular. Doesn't Germany have long tracts of shut down industry that is starting to get overgrown?

Yes, anon, you're absolutely right. We don't have even a single piece of forest here, it's all just berlin. So whatever you do, don't come to Germany...
Oh, and it's all arabs and polish whores, btw. whites get murdered the moment they're spotted.
So for your own sake, stay in your moms basement...

Homeless are worthless pieces of dog shit. Less than that even. Subhuman scum. Shitstained slime muck creatures. You should fucking kill yourself. You're fucking losers. Losers. Kill yourselves. Do the whole world a favor and kill yourselves. Nobody wants you here. Nobody cares about you. Kill yourself.

I lived the homeless life for about 8 months last year. Sleeping on the streets in Minneapolis Minnesota from early spring to late fall. Crashed on my buddies couch in their apartment during the winter for a place to stay. My first 2 days in I stashed the pack I was carrying around because it was too heavy. Sometimes you just want that weight off your shoulders and to not look visibly homeless for a couple hours. Pack ended up getting stolen. Easily $600 dollars worth of gear gone including helikon tex Alice, hygiene, water filter, sleeping bag, ect. Literally everything. Now my pack never leaves my side.
For camping out I would usually set up my tarp down by the river in a wooded area or a local park. Sometimes if the weather was permitting I would simply sleep on a park bench. This is actually quite comfortable. I carry a gun, knife and mace on me so I normally felt safe no matter where I was staying. Always have something to protect yourself with.
I never worried about having a camp stove because in Minneapolis you can get 3 free meals a day from charity organizations. Buying food and cooking it is pretty redundant at that point. Same with water filter. Water is plentiful in large cities.
For maps I use Osmand. It's completely offline. Has useful features like the ability to mark and find the nearest water fountain or bathroom near you, super helpful if you're homeless. It also has a lot of trails you won't find on Google maps. The best part is it has offline navigation.

I must say that biking 4 hours a day is my limit. Especially while trying to forward plan other things and move campsites. I'm talking a slow pace. 10 to 15km/hr. Especially in the boiling sun. Today google took me up a "road". It was a foot path that turned in to a creek.

Gonna go be homeless on the Appalachian trail this fall, go enough money to last a few years for food and occasional lodging. You can camp wherever you want as long as you want, no pigs can fuck with you. Plenty of trail towns to bum around where a guy with a pack isn't seen out of place. Going south for the winter then getting a bus to the Florida trail

Some of you are retarded larpers that think Vanlife/Bikepack youtubers that sleep in hotels every night and can afford pad thai / beans and rice in a bag at 16 a pop to eat in front of their durston xdome are living the life.

They are not. The reality of living on a bike or out of a backpack is full of bugs, homebum schizos, and worst of all, Jimmy Retard the average NPC that will spit on you when you exit the bathroom because you used the sink to wash up, or Jenny Retard the NPC Karen that calls cops because you walking under a shaded tree 400 feet away is suspicious behavior.

Do not fall for the glorification please.
