Sony A5100
Hello guys I'm very new to photography. Because my job requires me to drive constantly around my region, and because I see many beautiful places and many cool things, I would like to get a camera that is relatively good, but also easy to use. What do you think about the Sony A5100 should I gk for it?

i would prefer a camera with a viewfinder

Just get an a6#00 series and don't buy alcohol for a few months to pay for it

>a6#00 series
Terrible ui and menus.
Repulsive color science.
Nearly useless autofocus.
Overpriced horrible lenses that fail.
Sony aps-c cameras being worth a shit is a meme that needs to die. Even if a shooter can live with the camera body issues the horrible overpriced lenses are a deal killer.

My ZVE10 had pretty good autofocus and colors actually. I just didn't like the cost of the lenses, lack of buttons/dials and the menus.

I’m selling mine actually. Name your price and the title you want it to appear on eBay and it’s yours. Have a ZV-1 and several Xperias already

Why lie? Because fuji and panasonic cant make a good camera period? Because nikon is allergic to giving aps-c ibis and more than 20mp? Because canon only makes blobs?

if I was a photography greenhorn, I’d buy a Canon G5XII or a G7XIII, the main difference being a pop-up viewfinder on the G5XII and 5x optical zoom (the G7XIII magnifies 4.2x). If video quality matters a lot to you, the G7XIII has a mic input. Interchangeable lens cameras are not the be-all and end-all of cameras, and I suggest Canon because their colours are nice. Buy a Canon Selphy CP1500 printer and bang! baby you’ve got a stew brewin’

they’re the #2 brand overall (canon has more presence in box stores) and #1 in full frame. if they got their low tier shit up to par with things like the r10 and r100 and added the ibis sleds of yesteryear to bargain cameras they could probably claim #1 period because very few people voluntarily choose a canikon blob over a sleeker angular design without a viewfinder hump or "my main lens is a 24-70 f2.8" grip.

Same, but the phonefag generation doesn't really care. In fact they often pay more to not have the EVF lump and outright ignore more feature packed models that have them. Should tell you all about the demographic.. they just want to snapshit.

EVF humps are ugly. Grips are ugly. Fuck wedding photographers and birdsports canon boomers.

look at the amount of digicams without viewfinders that forced you to rely on a screen

that trend has been going on since the early 2000s at this point you should release camera companies to release cheap stripped apsc cameras to encourage normies to swap $1000 iphones and galaxys for $400 nikons otherwise the genre is dead because idiots legitimately dont believe in the power of more glass and more sensor

more sensor does matter. m43 rook rike iphone. soon aps-c will too.

iphone lacks glass, even a shitty chinese pancake still has 6-7 elements never mind a zoomchad lens with 13+ elements that's the equivalent of putting a telescope/binoculars on your sensor

>smart photographers: less elements renders better image
>m43: my $1500 f2.8 prime has 20 elements so its the best
Anonymous No.4469391 [Report]
>>4469388
yes unironically you need all that glass to control aberrations and distortion/fringing otherwise the best pics would come from shitty chinese disposable lenses like link related

https://pocketdispo.com/products/pocketdispo

you havent seen how big some FF primes can get like the sigma 50mm f1.4s? 14 elements btw

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1748158-REG/sigma_315965_50mm_f_1_4_dg_dn.html

m43 still has a larger sensor than any iphone, i don't know why /p/ doesnt understand this. m43 still has actual aperture blades, glass, mechanical shutters, and ability to change those all things iphones cannot do due to size constraints. m43 is STILL a bigger sensor size than any cellphone.

at this point i think /p/ would fall for the "what's heavier 10lbs of feathers or 8lbs of bricks" trick
