modern movies have a certain "proprietary technical demonstration" quality that is very distracting rendering them unwatchable
what i mean is, the movies feel like their sole purpose was to demonstrate the quality of the camera and audio equipment and nothing else. like a film equipment company needed to showcase the quality of their new camera or lighting equipment and had a custom movie made which will be shown on a screen at a trade show
it is the equivalent of something like Big Buck Bunny using real people

Hollywood and film in general used to be a selective market, now there's enough money going around and life is so easy that everyone can be an actor making the market saturated with garbage.

We need to replace video as an entertainment medium with something new and crash the industry to send it back.
