The 2020 fires were a mix of lightning/natural causes and arsons. The arsons were usually around roads and freeways, though, like the big one near Medford. The ones that began way the fuck out on the slopes of the Cascades were natural in origin. Drought contributed to both.

I was living near Stayton in 2020 and got gassed by thick smoke for a week. Sometimes I wonder if that had permanent health effects.
