Say that I have a choice, that I choose according to my will, and that my fallen will by its nature makes the wrong choice, unless God shows me mercy by intervening. Should I choose wrong, it was still I who made the choice. That I would not choose to do otherwise doesn't make me less culpable. God had no obligation to intervene.
God's sovereignty is truly awe inspiring. It means that we can pray for someone's salvation, and that God can decide to give that person faith in response to our prayer, but at the same time we know that the reason why we prayed for the person who God then gave faith was that God from the beginning had decreed that the person we prayed for would be saved.
