There are a multitude of different factors involved in this sort of mentality. A major one is propaganda. Basically people in first world countries are told to feel guilty about not living in a shithole and that they should feel bad that they had that while others don’t. Another thing which feeds into that is the lack of hardship to make you realize that your life is good. Challenges and hardship allow for people to ground themselves and gain perspective without it their minds wander and they pick up a bunch of bullshit from manipulative faggots. My ma moved here in the 80's from Colombia seeking a better life. She followed all the steps, did all the paperwork, she did it right.
She met my Anglo father, married, and they had me, little hybrid baby.
Would've been nice having pops around growing up, but hey surprise surprise a dirty Mexican came and broke up their marriage. Anyway, I grew up watching my ma struggle in life yes, but she never let her race, or her station hold her back. She understood that work ethic and perspective shape who we are, that 'nigger' is a mentality that only the poor think is good.
She taught herself to speak English fluently, went and got herself a college education, and has run several successful business in the years since.
In the background of her success, she completed all the necessary steps to become a US citizen. That was of the highest priority for her. I remember the day she received her paperwork. She called me into the backyard and had me sit with her by the fire pit. She told me about her life and how she struggled and how she never would have been able to do the things she'd done and give us all that we have, if she never came to this great land and became like the great people here.
Then she threw her Colombian paperwork into the fire and I freaked out at first but she told me not to worry. She said Colombia is dead to her, and that she is American now until the day she dies.

I've never met a person as patriotic as her, and to think this isn't even the nation of her birth. But she sees what America is, and she made the proper decision to cast off that which she was, so she may become anew.
