The citizenship test is not contingent on the method someone came to the US. If you take the test and swear to the US and renounce other nationalities - you are a citizen now. You can go murder someone and you will still remain a citizen.

It legally does not matter if you used a refugee status to accelerate your entry visa. That’s separate from the citizenship process.
