Good question, anon. The most dangers animal in the northwoods is a black bear. They get 1,000 lb and over seven feet tall at their oldest. But, they're pretty chill. and most only live to about four years old and never get over 400lb. They also hibernate in the winter, and that how most animals get to that island, by walking over the ice. I doubt it's an animal attack.

They probably fell from a rock, fell from a boat, or fell from a snowmobile. Depends how long the corpse has been there.

National parks are under federal jurisdiction, the island has no local coroners, towns, or anything. it's an island of rock and swamp that's frozen half the year. I assume the bodies have been there awhile and the FBI are there on vacation, camping out and having a pretty chill time. It might take the rest of the summer to get results.
