1990s:
> staff is friendly, energetic, and enjoys participating with the kids to make them happy. it's actually a fun job.
> everything works. no out of order games, and the animatronics show starts on time, every time, without a hiccup. the pizza is cooked to perfection. it's better than any mainstream pizza joint.
> even at full capacity, all of the kids are happy and well-behaved, and the parents are having a good social time with other parents.
2000s:
> staff is ghetto, disrespectful, and ignores the customers. they act like they want to be fired.
> literally 75% of the games are out of order, and the ones that do work eat your tokens and don't give your tickets. the staff can't help you with that. the animatronics show rarely runs, it's constantly out of order, and when it does it's all fucked up only happens once per day. the pizza tastes like shit and looks like a frozen pizza from the grocery store.
> the kids that go there are hellspawn ghetto trash, and their parents don't watch them. they will steal your skee-balls, walk on the ramp so you can't play, and steal the tickets if the machine manages to even give you any. They also push your child out of the seat on other games and steal their turn because they don't have their own tokens. Their parents nowhere to be found... until you tell the kid to stop, and their ghetto parents come chimping out. It's a no-go zone for white people. Police get called there every weekend for massive brawls between hoodrat parents. Sometimes the hoodrat staff even has a war with the hoodrat customers and completely destroy the place.
This is the real reason we don't have many arcades or other public fun places anymore, even for children. It's entirely a demographic issue. That started 20 years ago, imagine how bad it is now, and how bad it will be in another 20 years.
REMEMBER WHAT THEY DID TO CHUCK E. CHEESE!

Yeah, when you cut every single corner, things stop working as they should.

While race plays a role, keeping people behaved is more of a matter of effort

I went (Showbiz Pizza) when I was a young child in the early 90s and remember it not so fondly.
>Many machines broken, take your tokens and nothing you could do
>Lots of bad kids stealing your skee balls
>Animatronics was supposed to be the main draw but it was creepy and nobody liked it
>Best part was the ball pit but looking back on it, as an adult, that was hella unsanitary

When I was slightly older there was a place called Discovery Zone which opened and it was wayyyyy better. It had a huge labyrinth for kids to explore, laser tag, and way better arcade games.

I had other places near me like that being in a capital city, and they all met the same fate as Chuck E. Cheese.
