The thing I find most fascinating about this is that a fashion trend was created in which you're not ALLOWED to question it. Of course nobody is "born in the wrong body" but the social incentives for saying so outweighed the importance of telling the truth, and therefore, what otherwise would've been laughed off as a flavor of the month fashion like JNCO jeans, Crazy Bones, or Beanie Babies, instead became a social movement. Blurring the lines of established health realities due to a social trend. It's embarrassing when you really think about it. Of course you can't be "born in the wrong body." But when enough people say it, and enough people aren't allowed to challenge it, well... if you missed the foundational truth that people were cowed into lying, then you might miss that no one actually believed it from the start --> a society that is completely and utterly captured.
