e^(pi*i)+1=0 - I have no idea what it means, and I’m pretty sure no one else does, either, but it is the most profound thing that I have ever seen in my life.

Special case of Eulers identity. The rules are made up so it works out that way. Doesn't take much more than basic trig to understand.

Euler’s identity,
e^(πi) + 1 = 0,
is not just elegant mathematically — it also resonates deeply with sacred geometry, which sees number, proportion, and geometry as keys to understanding the structure of the universe. Let’s explore its sacred geometric implications through symbolism, structure, and philosophical meaning.

At the heart of the identity is the exponential of an imaginary number:
e^(iθ) = cos(θ) + i*sin(θ),
which is the equation of a circle in the complex plane. This represents a rotation on the unit circle, and when θ = π, it becomes a 180° rotation, taking the point 1 to -1. In sacred geometry, the circle is a foundational symbol, representing unity, eternity, the divine, and the infinite. This half-turn around the circle reflects duality and balance — the interplay of opposites like day and night, masculine and feminine, or life and death.

The constant π, which appears in this equation, is itself a cornerstone of sacred geometry. It’s the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, and so it links the linear with the curved, the finite with the infinite. In sacred traditions, circles often represent the heavens, and π becomes a measure of divine proportion, a hidden signature of the sacred within the structure of the cosmos. Many ancient structures — such as the Egyptian pyramids or Stonehenge — are thought to encode π in their proportions.

Euler’s identity brings together five of the most fundamental constants: e, π, i, 1, and 0. Each represents a different conceptual foundation — growth, circularity, the imaginary or unseen, unity, and nothingness, respectively. The equation unites these in perfect balance, forming a symbolic merger of being and non-being, reality and abstraction, form and formlessness. In mystical terms, it mirrors the monad and the void — the point of origin and potential from which all creation emerges.

The unit circle traced by e^(ix) can also be understood as a mandala — a geometric symbol of wholeness and the cosmos, used in spiritual traditions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. Movement around the unit circle corresponds to cycles of time, reincarnation, or celestial motion. When the rotation reaches π, it reaches a sacred midpoint, a symbolic moment of death and rebirth — a crossing from one phase of existence into another.

There’s also a deeply alchemical and hermetic theme embedded in Euler’s identity. The equation transforms:
e^(πi) = -1,
therefore: -1 + 1 = 0,
a symbolic journey from polarity back to unity. This resembles the alchemical concept of Solve et Coagula — dissolution and recombination. The merging of opposites into zero mirrors the mystical death of the ego, a return to source, a restoration of primordial unity.

In summary, Euler’s identity can be seen as a sacred geometric statement: a circular motion encoding time, duality, transformation, and return. It is a numerical mandala that unites physical, metaphysical, and mystical elements — all expressed in a single, elegant equation:
e^(πi) + 1 = 0.

I hate stupid explanations like this.
e^iθ is a rotation operator equivalent to a rotation matrix in higer dimensions. this operator lets you rotate a point θ radians about the origin by introducing an implicit second dimension to your number line
the 1 is just there to show it's value when θ is π, cleanly relating 5 constants
