i worked as a carpenter in a small rural town and we took a lot of care to make sure everything was precise and flush. when i got to the big city, the people doing drywall would leave huge seams and everything way out of whack. it would never ever pass muster in the boonies. so, i've seen both quality work and slop. most of it is slop. but some of it isn't.
