It's a two way street. Just as landlords can be cheap, greedy or only looking out for themselves, so can tenants. My family had tenants shoot bullets through windows, pay 2 months then stop paying for 8 months, had tenants steal copper piping, had tenants leave all their furniture in the house so it had to be moved, had tenants not report problems amongst other things. But my family has also given breaks to tenants that never gets mentioned in the "all landlords are bad" narrative.

Not everyone has this grand view of a landshare society. Some just want to get shit for free.
