Polbros/ explain to me the infighting between Northern Italians & Southern Italians, i don't understand.
I've heard that in America 4Italins were looked at as a minority and became legally white 100 years ago
Is there still alot of beef between the White Italians and mixed Italians?
Just wondering because i've been following the Luigi Mangione case, and his former inmate made a video explaining how all ethnic groups stick together in prison.
He said that Luigi told the guards that he identifies as Sicilian and when asked if he's Italian, he just tells people no.
I've found this interesting cause alot of people don't really think there's a huge difference between being Italian vs Sicilian. It's still a sub category of an Italian so it sounds odd to seperate them.
He's legally white, but doesn't seem to consider himself to be the same as other Euros.
So the other question is how much non white DNA does one need to have to no longer be classified as "white?" 25% is too high, or is this more about "passing" .
I've noticed there's tons of Italians that look like Latinos or Middle eastern people.
Luigi is an example of someone that looks ambiguous and can pass for those other groups without getting questioned.
