However, one mustn't forget the whole concept of reptilians with masking/cloaking technology was first introduced to US audiences in a TV show called "V" (for "Visitors") starring Marc Singer.

At this point I'm just happy to have real characters at all. So much ideological shit included for no other reason than they can. And I get it. As a creative, you want to put your values into your work, because it means something to you and you hope it will mean something to others too. But all that is passed along are lessons, not even wrapped up in stories anymore. Just getting lambasted by emptiness, because new values aren't quite the same as old values. My soul is somewhere in the 80s or 90s, shitty CGI and all. Everything comes back around with time, bro. Even the real. No worries.

That's a nice track. People follow what they love and it usually tends to turn out great. I think one of the biggest problems nowadays is how many people are involved in the story telling. There are literally diversity teams that tell you to add this and take that out. I think the 80s was a time of the writer and director just doing whatever the fuck they wanted and so many weird and original stories were able to be told. Too many cooks problem. Imagine getting someone like JRR Tolkien to sit down with a typewriter and a committee, and having them all tell him what to write. Fuck that. Return to individual's visions.

Why would a creative want to use their work to proselytize? Most of these people were tech nerds who wanted to see practical applications of tech, the difference between an art and propaganda is that one of these entails the advancement of a skill. Someone who only thinks about the details or mechanics. Unfortunately the average person could care less about whether something is animated on 1s, so gradually artists were supplanted by aestheticians who wanted to create their own aesthetic canon, then these were supplanted by a priestly caste of propagandists who wanted to use an aesthetic canon to push a message similar to how Byzantine developed a hieratic scale and flattened cartoonish images that any retard could make but were gatekept by symbols and themes rather than ability. There's simply no way for the average person to appreciate a skill until they practice it, consumerism is fundamentally opposed to the arts. The 90s was special because it had accommodations for people who wanted to develop arts before they stagnate into an aesthetic canon.

At that point it's not even about creativity at all anymore, and it shows. It's as soulless a way to get a message across as putting on the magic sunglasses from They Live. It's difficult though, things gave to be appealing to draw people in in the first place, and I can think of only a few "ugly" medias that had stories or messages strong enough that they were worth continuing past the repugnant parts. Anyway, I think it's the story that's the important part. And those who are good at it don't really proselytise, in general, but they sometimes come close to it because they have to have their story inside some kind of moral and societal framework, and if it's one you agree with you aren't going to notice it. Maybe it's that some values these days have gotten to an extreme place, and the only way to talk about them to others is essentially viewed as a threat or an insistence because they are so far out from what that other person views as a morally centrist framework. It's not so much about propaganda, I just don't think you can do that and not put something of themselves into it. You are right and it is sad that there are less places for people to get into it, besides their bedrooms.

Her VA was great, very memorable performance and I bet she loved that role. It was the sudden changes of emotions that kind of creeped me out on Hex kek.
Aren't comic style storyboards become more of a thing? It's cool but again, it's taking away from the vision of the writer, who knows wtf is going on inside their head, and the director, who they could explain it to and who then bruteforces everyone else to do exactly as they said to do. Whereas most times you can feel the almost bipolar nature of shows where everyone has to get their own little bit included.

>terrible movie
The opening scene has a cyberchimp with a gun shooting people what the FUCK do you want?
For me it's having a cyberchimp be a major plotpoint in a movie. Or that they claimed it was "inspired by Stephen King" when it has nothing to do with him, at all.
Or that it does *EXTENSIVE* CGI when none of it looked good.
It's not a masterpiece of cinema, but in terms of being an entertaining film it's a 10/10.

Imagine being an ordinary guy.
You mow lawns.
Now imagine there are problems with electronic devices everywhere and you get brought in to deal with it.
You know nothing about electricity. You mow lawns.
Suddenly after a medical operation you are now able to directly interface with all electronics and enter their electronic world through the magical science of virtual reality.
You discover that cybernetic demons, masquerading as viruses, are trying to infect every computer system in the world in order to manipulate and control people.
In the pursuit of these infected machines, you run around with a weapon and fire at trash cans and amok electronics.
When you do this, CDs fly everywhere which give you points when you collect them.
There are several weapon upgrades you can get which help but you're as vulnerable as virgin cunt on a galleon. 1 hit and you're dead. 3 lives and it's back to square one.
Along the way you go through cybernetic FPS tunnels and try to shoot the cybernetic demon viruses in VR.

I never watched the movie.
The above is what the SNES game is like.
