On the occasion that I am too busy or tired to make my own food and order instead (once a week maybe twice if it was a bad week at work) I just order to pick it up myself so I have no one I'm expected to tip.

they aren't doing "take-out" every once in a while like normal people used to do, like a busy day where mom & dad don't want to cook and too tired or had a couple drinks once that week and don't want to drive out, so they order delivery and throw a few bucks.
"Door Dash" is a completely different reality, for one they don't cook once in their lives, not even once -- these people get dash daily, if not multiple times a day for a lot of them, its just a thing they do, they blow all their fucking money all day on having different restaurants sending their feedbags out with dirty drivers.

It used to be shameful to work as a pizza boy back in my day. A job reserved for dropouts, pot addicts & low skilled burnouts. Now so many adult people do Doordash, Uber, Grub hub ect. and its become socially acceptable.

When has this become normalized? I was sitting at a table and a grown man said to the staff "I'm here for a doordash". My buddy smirked to me with a look of "get a load of this guy". I just judged silently as he stood there awkwardly looking at his phone.

This young adult could have done anything, ANYTHING else with his life but here he is using his own personal car, waiting at a fast food joint or restaurant, then driving to a persons home to hand deliver their food. That is bottom feeder behavior & it needs to be shamed publicly. It isn't a job, you are someones hired servant. And they expect a tip. A tip is earned for outstanding service, like a pretty waitress that brings your food to your table and actually seems happy to talk to you. Not a grown man walking up to a house with a hoodie (no uniform or professional clothes like a dress shirt and khakis) and expecting a $10 tip. No way, if I paid an inflated price, then a delivery fee that's more than enough to cover gas money unless you drive a hummer. Take it up with your boss if you don't like the pay. Back when I was working if I wanted a raise I would have to earn it, and tell the boss I deserved it. I quit many jobs until I got my career in the Auto industry and retired. All because I didn't like the pay and got a better job!

Yes, we all delve into a psychotic rage and most burgers are rageaholics. Also doesn't help that people are stuck in dead end jobs serving "people". I had to do it for a few months and it was hell. 2020 ruined tipping culture in the us, badly. Before you could tip 5 bucks and the workers would try to do go out of their way. Now that is gone because you can tip them 12 bucks and they will fuck up and have a terrible attitude.
