Even the Russians are saying that Iran's performance was pathetic and that Iran should probably just surrender. How did the Persians fall so far since the days of Cyrus? Why ARE they so weak in the modern era? I don't ask that to insult them or to be mean, but as a serious inquiry - what, specifically, went wrong for Iran?
