I don't know how accurate the movie was but I think the Curly Bill actor did a great job, he instilled fear in me when I was young. As in he could be telling you a joke and then suddenly you have to start dancing or you get shot.
Another character that made me feel the same was Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of NY.
