And the idea of the two handles is that you wash one hand, it is now clean. But the other one isn't, so if it touches the clean hand, or the clean hand touches a handle the unclean hand touched, it will become unclean again. So what you do is you pick it up by one handle with your unclean hand, that handle is now unclean. You use it to clean the other hand, making it clean. Then that clean hand can hold the cup by the remaining clean handle, while you wash your remaining unclean hand, leaving both hands clean.
