I watched this movie the other month with my girl, comfy.
not just 90s, I would say things were good and relaxed till smartphone era, which let the absolute trash and normalfags have access to public instead of being that stupid within his family. Smartphone led to social media that amplified that effect, plus monetization which is the cherry on the top that ruined all fun

It depends on who you ask. If you ask a Millennial such as myselfโ„ข, I couldn't give you a proper answer because I was born in 1988, and my interpretation of the '90s is through the lens of a child. I honestly preferred the early 2000s.

9/11 was the excuse for what big glowkike tech would do in 2007, which was giving and further slave the groydnigger cattle with niggerphone, both shitting the internet (which was prior white, tech savy people who were in it), and execute the patriot act (and many surveillance programs such as PRISM, stellarwind and many more, in, guess what 2006).
im not talking culturally (besides its obvious that 2007/8 was the game changer in every aspect, not just culturally), im talking about the period in which the best invention ever conceived (and overall technology that was just a bonus, and not the replacement for real world) was free, uncontrolled, unsurveilled, unormified, unkiked etc..

people weren't so schizo in the 90's. there weren't a bunch of retards trying to literally interpret literally everything back then, and everyone was granted their own defacto sense of personal private imagination to calmy sieve the knowledge of the world. 00's were pretty good too, as that 90's behaviour directly led into internet access only for those who could afford it: educated middle-to-upper class whites and japanese.

90s were as close to utopia we're over going to get

I feel blessed to have been born in 1990. I feel like I can die peacefully knowing I have experienced as a child, what most people on Earth imagine they would feel like being in Heaven.

Every other life experience is just a bonus and not even the most relentless torture can take those memories and experiences away from me. They are a bedrock of joy upon which I can always build my life and my current emotions.

The 90s were peak comfy, as someone else already said. Tech was convenient but limited enough to not take over. People were way more social. A lot more community activities and things to do. Going out now feels lonely. People are just existing near one another, not together as a community. 99% of people spoke English, unless you were downtown near some tourist attraction. Food was better. Music wasn't blacked yet. Don't even get me started on the economy.

I guess. The thing is, when I was born, I always had access to whatever was new, so by the time I was old enough to be on the internet, it just felt like what was 'supposed to happen'. For some people, the internet would've been this incredible new invention. To me it felt more like something that existed for a long time, even if that wasn't true. I had a console by age 2, entirely skipped the old Macintosh computers since I was too young, and was on the internet by 1995. It's honestly not that different for me than how it would've been for the oldest zoomers; they just had better graphics and faster, more algorithm-based internet.

Even when I watched '90s sitcoms as a kid, I felt like I was watching a world I was never part of, even though those shows we're being produced literally at that time. That's just the nature of being a child of a particular decade instead of an adult or teenager.

It was before the neoliberal economic system had obliterated the working class yeah.
Even the movies from the time are mostly about being bored. Fight Club, Office Space, The Matrix. My theory is that these movies were overall motivated by an uneasy feeling that real wages were declining but they couldn't pinpoint it yet. 2000s were pretty grim but people will rember every decade from the 2010s onward pessimistically due to the internet fucking with their mental health.

Zoomer here. I think there were 2 main shifts to progressively worse and worse quality of life: The 2008 recession, and the 2020 scamdemic. When I was like 6 around 2011, life was still how it was pretty much in the 90's except that there were teenagers with primitive cellphones. That was after 2008, but life was salvageable for young people like my age now. Then the scamdemic hit and that fucked everything. It made work from home jobs more prevalent so rich assholes moved to the nice rural areas, jamming house prices up to the moon. It made it so dating was more social media based. Same with getting a job and online applications.

I was watching this movie called Interstate 60 (2002), pretty much a 90's movie, and it amazes me how much the mentality is different back then than now.

nigger president
financial crash where the past standards of living have never returned. there was a definite change pre and post 08 crash to expected standards of living, at least in my state, like, for instance, the faggot suv push was really cemented after that crash as fewer people could afford to have more than one car, so more people opted for the extremely homosexual school bus that people have now made into something others are supposed to think is actually cool instead of extremely fucking gay

The year 2000 was probably the best balance of technology.

Yeah it was the easiest time to enjoy.
Tech had reliable inexpensive easy to work on cars. Sportbikes existed.
Homes were cheap, and anyone with any full time employment could finance one, and apartments on the beach were affordable part time minimum wage.
Grocery prices so low anyone could throw a bbq for the neighborhood even on a low income and not care.
Relationships were local and organic.
Videogames and movies were good. Regional cultures were distinct.
Most of society was white or their family had been part of the usa for decades.

The 2000s were the adjustment phase where the good of the 90s was phased out but still had a lot of it left.
By 2010s society became plastic, algorythm based
Society has declined since the smartphone so much. Vehicles are half as reliable from regulations so emissions and fuel efficiency could be improved less than 10%, while costing much more.
Homes are beyond like half the population's means.
People browse and meet eachother over corporate controlled mediums like souless consumer catalogs.
Kids are not playing outside.
Videogames are propaganda and microtransactions.
Everything is designed to spy on you from phones to cars to traffic and street lights, analyzed with ai.
It is clear most white societies will resemble the third world in culture attitude and ethnicity within a century, except be more dystopian than most can imagine.

I was a teenager in the 90s. It was a miserable time for me. When I consider that the late 90s was objectively the peak, or close to peak of Western Civilization it makes me wonder how fucked I would be if I was a teenager now. Definitely would be a discord addicted r9k neet loser. Or worse.

it was consistently the best, sharper than most dvd players well after it's time. I'll prefer an LDRip > DVDRip any time it's available, not to even speak of HD remasters/rereleases that have inevitably been cut or extended from the original release or 'upgraded' with CGI.

Things were still running okay for a couple years after 9/11, but you could definitely feel the wheels starting to come off. By 2008 we were going down like an Indian jet. By 2012 we were a severed head on a smelly Indian street while crowds of jeets stood around filming us.

THe other boomers were just too retarded to realize they were being brainwashed to give up their rights over "protections"

You'd have to be a complete fucking retard to not see it was an inside job

You have to put an * on that. For whatever reason the early 90's was full schizo. Lots of huge happenings too - L.A. Riots, Waco, Ruby Ridge, Oklahoma. Everyone was obssessed with ZOG and UFOs. No idea why it flipped so hard in 1995. People say internet, economic boom, globalization. But who really knows.

No he's sort of right. The late 90's...97 maybe, to 2005 were kind of their own thing. Very distinct from the early 90s. Also, the economy was great and crime was way down. On the other hand, just like you said, popular culture was getting really bad. Garbage whore pop music and nig nog tunes
