In most cases the mud brick was only one or two layers thick, but had multiple meters of loose gravel loaded on top.
Many of these tombs lasted thousands of years intact, even surviving earthquakes.
With the bricks, the major issues might be choice of mortar, and water erosion of that mortar.
Also small point loads might be an issue if someone droves something like a forklift over the brick without realizing itโs hollow below. (Iโve seen that happen).
