You can’t make him decide to do something with his life. What you can do is be one of his data points for making the decision himself. If he sees you as a slave and you are lecturing him to work, hens not going to want to because all he’s going to hear is “be a slave like me”. You have to be living with purpose before you can be someone worth listening to, and once you are you can be someone who can explain why it’s best to identify something worthwhile to do with your life and then do it. So what you do is you think about this issue, you are honest with your brother, but most importantly, you take all that reasoning and honesty and you listen to your own advice and worry less about having him listen to your advice.

>>507348018That’s the dream. I’ve only been able to get disability + shelter vouchers. I’m currency in the system for low income housing so I need to wait until everything finalizes. I maxed out years ago and put all the money on a cold wallet. Sometimes you need to be creative in order to survive.
Just get him into the gym and get him into tending a community garden and hunting. If he doesn't both use the system and work towards independence of the system and care for his health and wellbeing then he's a fucking moron. I'm on ODSP and have schizophrenia but I do all of the above except for hunting. I also play games but I'm always breaking PRs for my triathlon stuff. Don't shame him for using the system just encourage him to both use it and be the best version of himself, think about principles of psychology. If he can't be a NEET Lord like me and instead lives like a NEET Peasant ruining his body and mind then I guess you should just not be an enabler.
Oh and if he an actual real chronic health issue that fucking sucks. I personally wouldn't be on disability if I could just fucking sleep and stop hallucinating and get to appointments and places at the right time.
