they were supposed to get more S-300's from russia but from what i've heard they only received like one battery and they were not allowed to use it to protect missile sites or any other site that could be used for offensive purposes against israel. israeli government claimed they spotted iranian pantsir-S systems being used to shoot down israeli missiles (this is a russian-made system) and they complained to a russian ambassador about it but he refused to respond. iran has definitely gotten some things however it is seems to be very little which is no surprise given how the ukraine war has eaten up most of the world's munitions and weapons over the last 3 years. hegseth confirmed just now that the US had to move patriots out of ukraine again and back to the middle east to cover US bases in case iran attacks them.

Considering that Iranian comms would be based on inevitably western sourced or ancient Soviet designs, it's a reasonable assumption that their network was simply cut before the attack. The US did the same thing with Iraq the first time because we had installed all the infrastructure to begin with.
