the intent is to weaken russia's southern flank and divert their resources from ukraine.
with that being said, if even they're successful, I'm not sure there will be enough missiles for an attack against russia. ukraine and now israel are eating those like candy. that's the main reason the germs backpedaled their on their taurus offering to ukraine.
they might be counting on running sabotage ops from within like they did in russia and iran but if one side can do it, so can the other.
