China's main weakness is they don't have the computer chips they need if Taiwan cuts off access to them. They can't realistically take Taiwan without destroying those chip factories which is what they desperately want. Meanwhile the US and Russia have huge stockpiles of missiles from the Cold War that could be busted out if all-out war is on the menu. We decommissioned most of our nukes, but we kept the shitload of missiles we created to deliver them.

China is a manufacturing powerhouse which is a huge sore spot for the US. They make most of our medicine and a good chunk of our steel, but Trump at least got the steel plants roaring again. TSMC is also building a chip plant in Arizona so the US will be self-sufficient with computer chips in a couple of years.

Whether or not China is successful in taking Taiwan, they will likely have a massive political revolution after WW3.
