So Iran already has working nukes. How long until they actually use them?

Iran probably has all of the plans and parts ready to go to assemble a nuclear warhead. We also know that they have advanced nuclear engineering (power plants) and surely have the material. They also have a long-standing policy AGAINST nuclear weapons. The only reason they would make one would be if, say, israel/usa did the shit they did yesterday. The question of "Iran could make a bomb in weeks!" is just how long it would take them to assemble and get a working one.

What you really want to make nukes easily is plutonium to use as a lightweight neutron trigger.
the hard part is getting plutonium, which is an artificial element, IE it's half life is so short you have to manufacture it.
You can use Uranium 235 but then you still need alot of material to get it started as intended.
alternate layers of deuterium, tritium, and helium 3 or 4 to make extra spicy
also some materials reflect neutrons, see also demon core incident

A guest on the Kim Iversen Show claimed Iran definitely has nukes. I cannot find the episode because I suck at such things but he seemed to know much about subterranean Iranian info.
